Boone Woman Charged in Connection With Son’s Fatal Overdose
A Boone woman has been charged with death by distribution in connection with the November 2025 overdose death of her son, according to court records. Shari Rogers Treadway, 66, a former nurse at Watauga Medical Center, was arrested Wednesday on a warrant from the Boone Police Department. She faces a Class C felony, plus embezzlement and drug diversion charges tied to a March grand jury indictment, and her nursing license has since been suspended.
