WHERE…Portions of northwest North Carolina, southwest Virginia,and southeast West Virginia.
WHEN…From 8 AM Thursday to 10 AM EST Friday.
IMPACTS…The cold wind chills as low as 10 below zero couldresult in hypothermia if precautions are not taken. Wind chillvalues and very cold temperatures can lead to hypothermia withprolonged exposure.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…
Use caution while traveling outside. Wear appropriate clothing, ahat, and gloves.
Keep pets indoors as much as possible.
Make frequent checks on older family, friends, and neighbors. Ensureportable heaters are used correctly. Do not use generators or grillsinside.
