Town of Boone, North Carolina— At its August 13th meeting, the Boone Town Council votedto implement a uniform two-hour parking limit for all Downtown Boone public parking spacesduring large Appalachian State University events. This initiative is designed to ensure thatparking remains accessible to downtown businesses, their employees, and visitors during periodsof increased demand.
While most downtown meters are already subject to a two-hour limit, locations that previouslypermitted extended parking of up to nine hours, including the Queen Street lot, the North DepotStreet lot, and the King Street lot, will now also be restricted to a maximum of two hours ongame days. This parking change will go into effect on September 6th. The multi-hour parkinglots will be subject to this change on the following dates:
September 6th, 2025October 4th, 2025October 18th, 2025November 6th, 2025November 22nd, 2025November 29th, 2025
Please note that this schedule is subject to change. A sign will be posted on the multi-hour lotkiosks either a day in advance or the day of the event, weather dependent, to inform those whowish to park in those lots ahead of time.
