WHAT…Air temperatures in the single digits to 5 below zero.Dangerously cold wind chills as low as 15 to 20 below possiblealong and west of the Blue Ridge.
WHERE…Portions of northwest North Carolina, southwest and westcentral Virginia, and southeast West Virginia.
WHEN…From late Sunday night through Wednesday morning.
IMPACTS…Frostbite and hypothermia will occur if unprotected skinis exposed to these temperatures. An extended period of freezingtemperatures could cause ruptured water pipes.
