WHAT…Dangerously cold wind chills as low as 15 to 20 degreesbelow 0 possible.
WHERE…Portions of northwest North Carolina, central, southcentral, southwest, and west central Virginia, and southeast WestVirginia.
WHEN…From Monday evening through Tuesday morning.
IMPACTS…The cold wind chills as low as 15 to 20 degrees belowzero could result in hypothermia or frostbite if precautions arenot taken. Frostbite and hypothermia will occur if unprotectedskin is exposed to these temperatures.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…
Dress in layers including a hat, face mask, and gloves if you mustgo outside.
Keep pets indoors as much as possible.
