…FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 745 PM EDT THIS EVENING…
WHAT…Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
WHERE…A portion of northwest North Carolina, including thefollowing counties, Ashe and Watauga.
WHEN…Until 745 PM EDT.
IMPACTS…Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.Water over roadways. Overflowing poor drainage areas. Ponding ofwater in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
At 441 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due tothunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to beginshortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rainhave fallen.
This includes the following streams and drainages…Norris Fork, Laurel Creek, Flat Branch, Dutch Creek, LittleDugger Creek, Meat Camp Creek, Brushy Fork, Laurel Fork,Dugger Creek, Cove Creek, Left Prong Stony Fork, Elk Creek,South Fork Laurel Creek, Grassy Creek and Craborchard Creek.Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are expectedover the area. This additional rain will result in minorflooding.
Some locations that will experience flooding include…Boone… Blowing Rock…Todd… Foscoe…Deep Gap… Seven Devils…Sands…

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flooddeaths occur in vehicles.
Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
