…FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 830 PM EDT THIS EVENING…

* WHAT…Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE…A portion of northwest North Carolina, including thefollowing counties, Ashe and Watauga.

* WHEN…Until 830 PM EDT.

* IMPACTS…Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.Water over roadways. Overflowing poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…– At 519 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due tothunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to beginshortly in the advisory area. Between 0.5 and 1.5 inches ofrain have fallen.– This includes the following streams and drainages…Call Creek, Cove Creek, Craborchard Creek, Grassy Creek,Beech Creek, Dutch Creek, Beaverdam Creek, Brushy Fork,Grassy Gap Creek, Big Laurel Creek and George Gap Branch.Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are expected overthe area.
