…FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 PM EDT THIS EVENING…

  • WHAT…Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

  • WHERE…A portion of northwest North Carolina, including thefollowing counties, Ashe and Watauga.

  • WHEN…Until 1000 PM EDT.

  • IMPACTS…Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.Water over roadways.

  • ADDITIONAL DETAILS…

  • At 648 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due tothunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to beginshortly in the advisory area. Between 1.5 and locally 3inches of rain have fallen.

  • This includes the following streams and drainages…Meat Camp Creek, Grassy Creek, Elk Creek, Norris Fork, CallCreek and South Fork New River.
