…FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 745 PM EDT THIS EVENING…

  • WHAT…Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

  • WHERE…A portion of northwest North Carolina, including thefollowing counties, Ashe, Watauga and Wilkes.

  • WHEN…Until 745 PM EDT.

  • IMPACTS…Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

  • ADDITIONAL DETAILS…

  • At 249 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due tothunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to beginshortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rainhave fallen.

  • This includes the following streams and drainages…Beech Creek, Camp Branch, Cane Creek, Big Sandy Creek, ChurchBranch, Cove Creek, Beaverdam Creek, Big Bugaboo Creek, BeeTree Branch, Basin Creek, Clear Branch and Brushy Fork.Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expectedover the area. This additional rain will result in minorflooding.
