…FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 1115 PM EDT THIS EVENING…
* WHAT…Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
* WHERE…A portion of northwest North Carolina, including thefollowing counties, Ashe, Watauga and Wilkes.
* WHEN…Until 1115 PM EDT.
* IMPACTS…Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.Some low-water crossings may become impassable. Ponding of waterin urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…– At 810 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due tothunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to beginshortly in the advisory area. Between 1.5 and 2.5 inches ofrain have fallen.– This includes the following streams and drainages…Little Peak Creek, Middle Fork Reddies River, Call Creek,Grassy Creek, Little Fork, Elk Creek, Darnell Creek, MillCreek, Clear Branch, Fall Creek, Beaver Creek, Little ForkCreek, Dugger Creek, Meat Camp Creek, Church Branch, FlatBranch and Left Prong Stony Fork.Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are expected overthe area.
