…FLOOD ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1130 AM EDT THIS MORNING…
WHAT…Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.
WHERE…Portions of northwest North Carolina and southwestVirginia, including the following counties, in northwest NorthCarolina, Alleghany NC, Ashe, Watauga and Wilkes. In southwestVirginia, Grayson.
WHEN…Until 1130 AM EDT.
IMPACTS…Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
At 946 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due tothunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to beginshortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 3.5 inches ofrain have fallen.
This includes the following streams and drainages…Beech Creek, Bee Tree Branch, Beaverdam Creek, Beaver Creek,Bear Branch, Basin Creek and Big Horse Creek.
Some locations that will experience flooding include…Boone… North Wilkesboro…Wilkesboro… Jefferson…West Jefferson… Blowing Rock…Beech Mountain…
