…FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 PM EDT THIS EVENING…
WHAT…Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
WHERE…A portion of northwest North Carolina, including thefollowing counties, Ashe, Watauga and Wilkes.
WHEN…Until 800 PM EDT.
IMPACTS…Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.Rises in small streams and normally dry arroyos. Overflowing poordrainage areas. Ponding of water in urban or other areas isoccurring or is imminent.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
At 449 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due tothunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to beginshortly in the advisory area. Between 0.5 and 2 inches ofrain have fallen.
This includes the following streams and drainages…Beech Creek, Call Creek, Camp Branch, Clear Branch, DuggerCreek, Cove Creek, Cane Creek, Church Branch, Darnell Creek,Dutch Creek, Bee Tree Branch, East Prong Roaring River,Craborchard Creek, Beaver Creek and Brushy Fork.Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are expectedover the area. This additional rain will result in minorflooding.
