…FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 545 PM EDT THIS AFTERNOON…
WHAT…Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
WHERE…A portion of northwest North Carolina, including thefollowing county, Watauga.
WHEN…Until 545 PM EDT.
IMPACTS…Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
At 232 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due tothunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to beginshortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 1.5 inches ofrain have fallen.
This includes the following streams and drainages…Flat Branch, Dugger Creek, South Fork Laurel Creek, ElkCreek, Stony Fork and Little Dugger Creek.Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are expectedover the area. This additional rain will result in minorflooding.

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flooddeaths occur in vehicles.
Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
