* WHAT…Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
* WHERE…A portion of Watauga County in northwest North Carolina.
* WHEN…Until 530 PM EDT.
* IMPACTS…Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…– At 227 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due tothunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to beginshortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 1.5 inches ofrain have fallen.– This includes the following streams and drainages…Grassy Gap Creek, Laurel Branch, Dutch Creek, Meat CampCreek, Brushy Fork, Craborchard Creek, Cove Creek, Elk Creek,Laurel Creek, Grassy Creek, Beech Creek, Beaverdam Creek,Laurel Fork and George Gap Branch.Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are expectedover the area.
