…FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 1245 AM EDT SUNDAY…
WHAT…Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
WHERE…A portion of northwest North Carolina, including thefollowing counties, Ashe, Watauga and Wilkes.
WHEN…Until 1245 AM EDT.
IMPACTS…Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
At 940 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due tothunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to beginshortly in the advisory area. Between 2 and 3 inches of rainhave fallen.
This includes the following streams and drainages…Elk Creek, Big Warrior Creek, Fish Dam Creek, Beaver Creek,Fall Creek, Dugger Creek, Cub Creek and Call Creek.
Some locations that will experience flooding include…Boone… North Wilkesboro…Wilkesboro… Blowing Rock…Deep Gap… Wilbar…Boomer…

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flooddeaths occur in vehicles.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize thedangers of flooding.
