2022-08-15T00:28:00-04:002022-08-15T03:30:00-04:00NWS Blacksburg (Southwest Virginia)Flood Advisory issued August 14 at 11:21PM EDT by NWS Blacksburg…FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 230 AM EDT MONDAY…* WHAT…Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.* WHERE…A portion of northwest North Carolina, including thefollowing counties, Watauga and Wilkes.* WHEN…Until 230 AM EDT.* IMPACTS…Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…– At 1121 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due tothunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to beginshortly in the advisory area. Between 0.5 and 1.5 inches ofrain have fallen.– This includes the following streams and drainages…Church Branch, Dugger Creek, Cane Creek, Big Bugaboo Creek,Beaver Creek, Big Warrior Creek, Cub Creek, Bussels Creek,Camp Branch and Bee Tree Branch.Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are expectedover the area.
