Much of Alleghany County NChas seen rainfall of 2-4 inches in the past couple of days. Theground is saturated and additional rainfall of 1 to 2 inches willquickly result in excessive runoff and cause minor flooding.…FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 3 PM EDT THIS AFTERNOON…* WHAT…Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.* WHERE…In northwest North Carolina, Alleghany NC.* WHEN…Until 300 PM EDT.* IMPACTS…Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…– At 1201 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain. Minorflooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in theadvisory area.– This includes the following streams and drainages…Brush Creek, Elk Creek, Grassy Creek, Elkin Creek, East ProngRoaring River, Gully Creek, Crab Fork, Glade Creek, BasinCreek, Big Pine Creek, Cove Creek and Little River.Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 1.5 inches are expectedover the area.
