…FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 4 PM EST THIS AFTERNOON…
WHAT…Small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall isexpected.
WHERE…A portion of northwest North Carolina, including thefollowing county, Watauga.
WHEN…Until 400 PM EST Friday.
IMPACTS…Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lyingand flood-prone locations is imminent due to excess runoff fromcontinuous light to moderate rainfall through the morning. Thisincludes the Watauga River. Low-water crossings are inundated withwater and may not be passable.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
At 947 AM EST, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due tothunderstorms. Flooding is ongoing or expected to beginshortly in the warned area.
Some locations that will experience flooding include…Beech Mountain, Sugar Grove, Foscoe, Seven Devils, ValleCrucis, Rominger and Lovill.
