…FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 445 PM EDT THIS AFTERNOON…
WHAT…Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
WHERE…A portion of northwest North Carolina, including thefollowing counties, Alleghany NC, Ashe, Watauga and Wilkes.
WHEN…Until 445 PM EDT Thursday.
IMPACTS…Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lyingand flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Numerous roadsremain closed due to flooding.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
At 745 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due tothunderstorms. Flooding is ongoing or expected to beginshortly in the warned area. Between 2 and 4 inches of rainhave fallen.
Additional rainfall amounts of 2 to 4 inches are possible inthe warned area.
Some locations that will experience flooding include…Boone, North Wilkesboro, Wilkesboro, Sparta, Jefferson, WestJefferson and Blowing Rock.
