  • WHAT…Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to bepossible.

  • WHERE…Portions of North Carolina and southwest Virginia,including the following areas, in North Carolina, Alleghany NC,Ashe, Surry, Watauga and Wilkes. In southwest Virginia, Carroll,Floyd, Grayson and Patrick.

  • WHEN…Through late tonight.

  • IMPACTS…Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occurin poor drainage and urban areas. Low-water crossings may beflooded. Storm drains and ditches may become clogged with debris.

  • ADDITIONAL DETAILS…

  • 2 to 4 inches of rain with locally higher amounts, of up to 6inches, are expected, especially along and just east of thesouthern Blue Ridge.
