* WHAT…Northwest winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 60 mphexpected.

* WHERE…Avery, Burke Mountains, Caldwell Mountains, McDowellMountains, Mitchell, and Yancey Counties.

* WHEN…From 4 AM to 3 PM EST Tuesday.

* IMPACTS…Damaging winds will blow down trees and power lines.Widespread power outages are expected. Travel will be difficult,especially for high profile vehicles.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…Snow showers early Tuesday morning may resultin a light accumulation of an inch or two of snow in some spotsnear the Tennessee border, before the snow showers end in the latemorning.
