Town of Boone, North Carolina— The Boone Town Council congratulates Chancellor HeatherNorris on her recent appointment as Chancellor of Appalachian State University. During hertenure as Interim Chancellor, Chancellor Norris has strengthened the relationship between theTown of Boone and the University, demonstrating a deep commitment to the Boone community.
The Boone Town Council greatly appreciates Chancellor Norris’s dedication to fostering a strongpartnership and collaboration with the Town of Boone—a commitment that has only grown sinceher appointment as Interim Chancellor. Trust and communication between both entities havesignificantly increased, and we look forward to continuing this partnership.
During Hurricane Helene, Chancellor Norris provided exceptional leadership, guidingAppalachian State University through unprecedented challenges while prioritizing collaborationwith the Town of Boone and other community partners. The Boone community as a whole couldnot have navigated the post-hurricane recovery without the vital partnership among AppalachianState University, the Town of Boone, Watauga County, and other key stakeholders.
