This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for northwest North Carolina,southwest Virginia, west central Virginia and southeast WestVirginia.

.DAY ONE…Today and tonight.

There is a low probability for widespread hazardous weather.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN…Tuesday through Sunday.

A wintry mix of precipitation in the form of light snow, sleet, andfreezing rain is likely begining around daybreak Tuesday andcontinuing into the mid to late morning hours before changing to rainat all except the highest elevations of the mountains by afternoon.Snow and sleet accumulations are expected to be less than 1 inch. Iceaccumulations are expected to range from a trace to a few hundredthsof an inch mainly on elevated objects and surfaces although iceaccumulations up to 1/10th inch will be possible in the higherterrain of northwest North Carolina and southwest Virginia.

The morning commute Tuesday could be problematic for areas along andwest of the Blue Ridge, especially for elevations above 2500 ft.

For the period Wednesday through Sunday, the probability forwidespread hazardous weather is low at this time.
