Severe Thunderstorm Warning for…Northeastern McDowell County in western North Carolina…Mitchell County in western North Carolina…Northwestern Caldwell County in western North Carolina…Avery County in western North Carolina…Northeastern Yancey County in western North Carolina…Northwestern Burke County in western North Carolina…
Until 745 PM EDT.
At 648 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a lineextending from 12 miles southwest of Mountain City to 8 miles westof Beech Mountain to 10 miles northeast of Burnsville, moving eastat 35 mph.
HAZARD…60 mph wind gusts and penny size hail.
SOURCE…Radar indicated.
IMPACT…Expect damage to trees and power lines.
Locations impacted include…Spruce Pine, Newland, Banner Elk, Elk Park, Bakersville, BeechMountain In Avery County, Crossnore, Sugar Mountain, Seven Devils,and Linville Falls.
