The National Weather Service has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for the High Country and western North Carolina until 11 AM this morning.
A couple tornadoes possible
Isolated hail up to quarter size
Scattered wind gusts up to 70 mph likely
Includes Watauga, Ashe, Alleghany, Wilkes, Surry, Yadkin, Avery, Buncombe, Burke, Caldwell, Graham, Haywood, Henderson, Jackson, Macon, Madison, McDowell, Mitchell, Polk, Rutherford, Swain, Transylvania, Yancey, and surrounding counties into the Charlotte metro, Piedmont, and Upstate South Carolina.
