In coordination with local land managers yesterday evening, aFire Danger Statement was issued for North Carolina countiesalong the Blue Ridge Escarpment, Foothills, and north-centralmountains. In the affected areas, gusty afternoon winds rangingfrom 20 to 30 mph will coincide with low humidity and dry fuels.Fire will have an easier time starting and spreading.
