The combination of recent light snow, light icing, and lingeringsubfreezing temperatures has created some slippery roadconditions at the higher elevations of the North Carolinamountains, especially near the Tennessee border. Locations above3500 feet received light snow accumulations overnight andtemperatures have been slow to recover above the 20s. Be on thelookout for patchy black ice today if traveling in the westernNorth Carolina mountains, especially along the higher ridges.
