At 211 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm overSands, or near Boone, moving northeast at 10 mph.
HAZARD…Winds in excess of 40 mph and half inch hail.
SOURCE…Radar indicated.
IMPACT…Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow aroundunsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects ispossible.
Locations impacted include…Boone…Jefferson…West Jefferson…Beech Mountain…Lansing…Foscoe…and Glendale Springs.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
