…ELEVATED FIRE DANGER THIS AFTERNOON THROUGH EARLY EVENING…
Relative humidity values between 25 and 30 percent are expectedthis afternoon. Winds look to be slightly more elevated today,with sustained winds around 10 to 15 mph with gusts to 25 mph attimes. That combined with very dry fuels will result in anincreased fire danger.
The North Carolina Forest Service has issued a statewide ban onall open burning until further notice, and all burning permitshave been cancelled. Residents with questions can contact their NCForest Service county ranger or their county fire marshal'soffice.
