At 555 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 7miles east of Hampton, or 8 miles northwest of Beech Mountain, movingeast at 15 mph.
HAZARD…Wind gusts up to 50 mph and pea size hail.
SOURCE…Radar indicated.
IMPACT…Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow aroundunsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation ispossible.
Locations impacted include…Boone…Blowing Rock…Beech Mountain…Foscoe…Sugar Grove…Blowing Rock In Caldwell County…and Beech Mountain In Avery County.
