On July 27, 2023, the Town of Boone will be hosting the second public input session for theCommunity Climate Action Plan at 5:30 p.m. at Council Chambers, located at 1500 BlowingRock Road. Similar to the previous public input session, this meeting will consist of a briefoverview of what the Town of Boone is wanting to accomplish with this plan. Furthermore,experts in the field will be in attendance. The representatives from the following organizationswill be stationed around Council Chambers in order for attendees to learn more about differentsectors of sustainability:● Energy: Appalachian State University’s New River Light and Power and Blue RidgeEnergy● Transportation: AppalCART and Northwest North Carolina Mountain Bike Alliance● Local Foods: Blue Ridge Women in Agriculture, High Country Grown, and the NorthCarolina Cooperative Extension- Watauga Branch● Waste Management: Town of Boone Public Works, Republic Services, and AppalachianState’s Office of Sustainability● Water and Green Space: Town of Boone Planning and Inspections● Appalachian State University’s Office of Sustainability
