Watauga Arts Council is now accepting applications for North Carolina Arts CouncilGrassroots Arts Program subgrants through September 11,2023.
Since 1977, the North Carolina Arts Council’s Grassroots Arts Program has providedNorth Carolina citizens access to quality arts experiences. Using a per capita basedformula, the program provides funding for the arts in all 100 counties of the statethrough partnerships with local arts councils.
Watauga Arts Council serves as the North Carolina Arts Council’s partner in awardingsubgrants to local organizations for arts programs in Watauga County.
Applications are available for non-profit organizations who seek to promote anddevelop diverse cultural arts programming in Watauga county. Funding priority is givento qualified arts organizations (theaters, galleries, choral societies, festivals, etc.),arts in education programs conducted by qualified artists, and other communityorganizations that provide arts programs in the county. Grassroots funds are notgenerally awarded to arts organizations that receive funding through the N.C. ArtsCouncil’s State Arts Resources. Projects must occur between July 1, 2023 –June 15,2023.

Watauga Arts Council will host a Grassroots Arts Program Grant Workshop to assistinterested applicants in preparing competitive grants on Zoom on August 2 at noon.New applicants are strongly encouraged to attend. Please contact[email protected] for a Zoom link.
Grant applications are evaluated by a diverse panel of community members and votedon by the Watauga Arts Council Board of Directors. Awards are announced in on orbefore October 16.
