…WIND ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT FROM 7 PM THIS EVENING TO 1 AM ESTMONDAY……HIGH WIND WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 1 AM TO 7 PM EST MONDAY…
* WHAT…For the Wind Advisory, northwest winds 25 to 35 mphwith gusts up to 45 mph expected. For the High Wind Warning,northwest winds 30 to 40 mph with gusts up to 60 mph expected.
* WHERE…Avery, Yancey, Mitchell, Caldwell Mountains, BurkeMountains and McDowell Mountains Counties.
* WHEN…For the Wind Advisory, from 7 PM this evening to 1 AMEST Monday. For the High Wind Warning, from 1 AM to 7 PM ESTMonday.
* IMPACTS…Damaging winds will blow down trees and power lines.Widespread power outages are expected. Travel will bedifficult, especially for high profile vehicles.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS… Occasional gusts up to 60 mph are possibleacross the higher peaks above 5000 feet.
