WHAT…For the Wind Chill Warning, dangerously cold windchills. Wind chills as low as 30 below zero. For the WindChill Advisory, very cold wind chills expected. Wind chills aslow as 15 below zero.
WHERE…Portions of northwest North Carolina, southwest andwest central Virginia and southeast West Virginia.
WHEN…For the Wind Chill Warning, until 1 PM EST thisafternoon. For the Wind Chill Advisory, from 1 PM thisafternoon to 1 PM EST Sunday.
IMPACTS…The dangerously cold wind chills could causefrostbite on exposed skin in as little as 10 minutes.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…
Avoid outside activities if possible. When outside, make sure youwear appropriate clothing, a hat, and gloves.
