  • WHAT…For the Winter Storm Warning, heavy snow expected. Totalsnow accumulations of up to 6 inches. Winds gusting as high as35 mph. For the Winter Weather Advisory, snow expected. Totalsnow accumulations of up to 4 inches. Amounts will generally behighest on ridgetops, particularly those along the Tennesseeborder.

  • WHERE…North Carolina counties bordering Tennessee, from Grahamto Avery.

  • WHEN…From noon Thursday to 7 AM EST Friday.

  • IMPACTS…Travel could be very difficult. The hazardousconditions could impact the morning or evening commute.

  • ADDITIONAL DETAILS…Bitterly cold wind chills, between zero and10 below, will occur in high elevations early Friday morning.

A Winter Storm Warning for heavy snow means severe winter weatherconditions are expected or occurring. Significant amounts of snoware forecast that will make travel dangerous.
